ORM Statement: IVF + Roe v. Wade
Our Center

IVF and Roe v. Wade

It is truly hard to fathom that in 2022, our reproductive freedom, a fundamental human right, is now at risk. At Ohio Reproductive Medicine (ORM), we strongly oppose the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the impact it will have on Reproductive Healthcare not only in our state but nationwide.

We ardently stand alongside our current and past patients – as well as anyone who wished to build a family in the future with the help of fertility treatments.

We continue to make our voices heard in effort to preserve these crucial freedoms in the state of Ohio. We will always support the privacy and rights of all people to make personal choices regarding access to life-saving care, reproductive treatments, and their embryos.

That will NEVER change.

FERTILITY TREATMENT IN OHIO

At Ohio Reproductive Medicine, your frozen embryos are currently safe, protected, and respected. No facet of IVF treatment at ORM, including embryo storage, has been affected by the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.

ROE V. WADE, EMBRYOS, AND IVF

Currently, 13+ states have already taken the initial steps to ban abortion by having “trigger laws” in place that immediately ban abortion within 30 days of Roe v Wade’s overturning. In these states, IVF may not be affected; however, the definition of “personhood” in relation to the rights and storage of frozen embryos are of the utmost concern. We continue to monitor this troubling situation and the potential for other states to enact further legislation that may affect reproductive healthcare.
